part of the reason for casing it was to hang it up in the house, just cuz I think it looks kinda cool. I mean I can't bring myself to wear it, I guess it's an OCD thing. I wouldn't have a problem hanging it in a closet if I had to though.

Fair enough. I would agree that it looks very cool in a case I just love the feel of a hockey sweater so I am very lax about wearing them.

I have a frame that I had bought years ago to put my first game-worn jersey in. After that, I started to put my nicest gamer in there as I obtained them. I've probably changed them out about eight times in all. Right now, I have my Kris Draper 09 Cup Finals jersey in there.

of course, if i ever obtained an autographed or game-worn jersey it'd end up in my case.....but for now i have nothin better to keep in there than the Lundqvist one, and like I said hopefully one day I'll be able to get it autographed. that was my intention upon buyin the authentic in the first place. I just wish the Army paid me more money; I could definitely see myself getting heavily into jersey collecting.

Hey, if it's special to you, then go for it. It's your jersey so do with it what you want!

Y'know what you need to do? Fuck the website...hang up all of your jerseys and charge admission for anyone who wants to see 'em. I know some people who would pay big money for a tour of your shrine.

Wow - nice job Mike. Congrats Derek.

It reminds me that I still have 3 other WolfPack authentic jerseys I need to get done.

As for framing jerseys, I got a nice frame for my '98 USA Olympic jersey that's autographed by the team - right now I only plan to frame/display my autographed jerseys. The rest of my authentics are good enough in the closet, although I have contemplated a free-standing clothing rack to somewhat display them.

Ok If fucking MSG collectibles calls me back and the certain finnish warm up jersey hasn't sold I MAY consider getting a frame for that. Otherwise the Dionne autographed LA kings jersey is staying in the closet.

Man I hope it's not that plastic number crap with the fake stitch marks.

The best deal right now for customized replicas or authentics is EPS who is offering free customization on new jersey purchases. It's the real deal - stitched multi-layered twill - regardless of if you get a replica or authentic.

Blue what have you done to me? Ever since I bought that fake Gretzky jersey and you showed me the light I've been trying to one up myself in my collection. I thought the TBTC Rangers couldn't be topped for a while, but I did it. You and Aketon may call me a copy cat, but for that deal my next jersey is going to be sweet (especially as a Hanukkah gift!).

Man, if you're a copy cat for the Graves night jersey, so am I.

I found out about it the same time you did. I'm just glad they had two left - I would have felt bad if I snagged the Korpedo before you got a chance. I think it worked out perfect that we both got one and got a great deal on them too.

Honestly if you had gotten it before me then it would still be cool! Would have been taking advantage of the MeiGray sale. Still have to wait on my first "official" gamer.

D- this is partly because of my last summer job. Most of this years jerseys were from my knife selling endeavors. And the Holidays.

i just wish i wasnt deploying again in march...i'm being wary of accumulating too much more stuff cuz it's only gonna have to be packed up and put in storage while i'm gone. otherwise, i'd probably get myself another jersey for christmas this year. although, the deployment will give me a chance to save money to buy some when i get home...

Xcdude, count yourself lucky you got that Korpedo. I just got an e-mail from MSG collectables that they quoted me the wrong price on the Staal Graves night jersey - instead of $350 ($500 at 30% off) it's actually $420 ($600 at 30% off). Since I hard originally only planned on spending $250, an extra $70 on top of the extra $100 I'd already accepted probably would have been enough for me to just settle on the $250 Korpedo. Granted now that I know it's the last one left, I had to go for it despite the now higher price.

Aww man I feel bad now. Was the original price $600 or was that cut down from the original? I know it's a hell of a deal, but I mean it really sucks that they told you the wrong price. I would have just done a MeiGray deal if I had known this earlier.

If I remember accurately, when they first became available earlier in the year, MSG Collectibles had the Staal one at $1000; maybe even higher. There were a whole bunch available when my contact contacted me(hee) and I know Staal was among them. So was Drury, Callahan and Lundqvist for that matter. I went with one of the cheaper ones which was also a cool pick in Sjostrom. It was listed at $800 and at the 40%, it came to somewhere in the higher $400 neighborhood. Worth every penny obviously but still a damn good deal. For what you guys got them at, that's still a fuckin steal on those jerseys. Matt, you paid less for your Staal jersey than I did for the Shoe one so you're in good shape dude!

At $420 I still think the Staal is a deal. Just sucks they told me $350 originally.

I'm glad it worked out the way it did - Xcdude is a way bigger Korpedo fan that I ever was. I feel quite lucky ending up with the Staal as he'll probably be a Ranger for a while.

Meanwhile, here's my latest acquisition, my first official MeiGray documented gamer: a 2001-02 Rangers pre-season jersey with 9/11 ribbon patch of tough guy #21 Steve McKenna. I got this cheap from a IJ member who was going to strip it just for the patch - I helped him get a replica patch and he thanked me by selling me the jersey for the price he paid.

Being a pre-season jersey, the name is actually head-pressed vinyl on a nameplate. The jersey itself is in fairly good shape with just a couple stick/puck marks and some minor board burn on one elbow.

"Where are they now?" Fun Fact: Steve McKenna is now the coach of the Australian national hockey team the Might Roos.

MSG Collectibles? Is that associated w/MeiGray? I thought MeiGray was the exclusive game worn dealer of Rangers jerseys?

All of the Rangers jerseys, including the specialty warmups for Graves night, Howell/Bathgate night etc. are still tagged and cataloged by MeiGray and assigned a MeiGray number. My understanding is that MSG Collectibles then serves as a reseller and provides their own MSG Collectibles number. MSG collectibles also sells other autographed items etc. that may not be part of the MeiGray program. So they are two separate entities with a working relationship.

I'd like to say that I am jealous of everyone in this thread. I only have a crappy replica Jagr and Ortmeyer jersey (both CCM, I think). I want to be a jersey collector dork, what's next?

Go to:
http://www.gameworn.net
and register on the site. Then have a ball browsing the threads and seeing what's out there in the game worn hockey hobby. You can probably pick up a nice low level players game jersey at a reasonable price. Juniors , Minors, NHL , Euro, college . Very cool.

Paul - what's the usual price range look like on the college jerseys? I'm not necessarily looking for future name players, just a decent jersey or two.

I wouldn't imagine college jerseys cost that much but it would depend on the player. If it's a higher-end player, the jersey will cost more. I really don't know any outlets that sell them though. Who specifically are you looking for?

I have an authentic Ortmeyer jersey thwt I got his autograph on at one of the NYR Skates at Bryant Park. I still wear it with pride...I love that dude and would take him back in a heartbeat (no pun intended).

How much are Kusand gamers going on MeiGray?

Um. The 2008 Rink Rats gamer is $200 on MeiBeard. The 02-04 Stampede gamer isn't for sale. I could be talked into parting with the 05-09 Bearcats gamer, but it would probably be more like $500.

We do have official Kusand practice-ers, but those don't have appropriate names/numbers.

Haven't decided - don't even really have a player in mind. I think if I saw a particular jersey that I thought looked good I might see about getting one.

Hmm - now that you mention it, I think they're all championship gamers. The Stampede won my first beginner league (I was 18-10-28 in 10 games), I think Rink Rats won the winter league the one season I was with them, the Bearcats have a couple, and I just won summer league with the Knights in one of my practice jerseys.

edit: Lest anyone get the idea I'm amazing from that stat line, remember it's a beginner league. I'm roughly a point-per-gamer in C and a .5 PPG in B at this point.

We can use a 6-trimmer and make it $175. That's as low as corporate will let us go, though.

I've picked up a college gamer for as little as $90 (Tufts ) but depending on the team they can go as high as NHL jerseys even for common players. If you're thinking of a BU ,BC, Mich. St. Michigan, Denver , etc look to pay a lot. I've gotten a Providence gamer pretty cheap , I think it was $150
