So, I have Dennis Wideman. He got 50 points last season as a defenseman, and he's still getting 25 minutes of ice time. However, he's only got 2 points in 11 games. I keep thinking he's gonna get it going, but it just hasn't happened yet. My biggest worry is that I drop him, someone else picks him up, and that's when he starts to light it up. Would you hold onto him for a little longer, or just toss him since he's not picking up any points for me?

EDIT: I just realized this is the wrong place for this post. Someone wanna move it into the Fantasy Forum for me?

It'll get moved.

Anyway, it depends who your options are to replace him. List'em.

I absolutely would not drop a guy who had a season like that last year 11 games in. He's got too much potential. Wait it out. Dangle the name in trade if you must, but unless your waiver wire is sickly deep, you don't trash a guy like that for no return.

I dropped him like a bad habit 2 weeks ago. With no more Kessel, and with Lucic and Savard out for weeks injured you're not going to see many points from him for a while, if at all. Picked up Del Zotto from him. Worked out quite well I must say. Try to get Goligoski if you can, or Visnovsky.

As someone who rode Wideman to a top 4 finish last season, I would definitely say you should keep him for a while if you can. All of the Bruins are struggling right now, but one some of their injured players come back, they'll be a lot better.

Again, it depends who he has available to replace him with.

I went to grab Del Zotto and I was litterally a few minutes too late...someone had just grabbed him. I drafted Goligoski, but dropped him after a slow start. I'm kickin' myself in the ass now. Not to mention that 2 of my top 3 draft picks were Souray and Daniel Sedin...the 3rd being Tim Thomas. I have Callahan, who we all know is off to a slow start (or at least stuck in the mud). I suppose it's no wonder in in 13th out of 16!

I guess I'll hang on to Wideman for the time being, although I did put him and Callahan on the trading block and haven't gotten any offers so far.

Thanks for the input.

He was auto-drafted onto my pos team and because he was a top fantasy player last season he has some kind of un-dropable status now. He is one of my worst performers on an unbelievably bad team.

If it was a keeper league, it would make sense.
