I suppose, I just found it funny that every review I read was "Ros dead, symbolic killing of sexposition!!" I dont know, it just came off as people jumping on the chance to seem as though they were trying really hard to be intelligent while throwing out a buzz word that was created essentially because of this show.

Like someone would read it and be like "oh wow, I didn't even think of that" when really it was, ya know, the death of a secondary character whose role was becoming useless to begin with.

Then you get this episode with two drawn out scenes of nudity and conversation and it's like "yeah, good job critics. You really nailed that whole Ros death symbolizing something"

Maybe not from last night but there have been episodes in the past where things "escalated quickly"

The idea that Ros dying would be the end of nudity in the show is just laughably stupid.

Not nudity, but "sexposition": the relaying of dull but important background and story details during sex scenes.

You mean like a pretty important conversation that lasted about 10 minutes while a woman lied bare ass naked with plenty of shots with the ass in the foreground?

Or a pretty important scene in the torture room with two naked chicks getting a dude aroused as psychological warfare before his joint gets cut off.

Yeah, sexposition clearly died with Ros.

Soon to be replaced by "mastoration" and "whacking poetic."

I laughed, but I also honestly think of this every time someone uses the term. A term coined by a writer in an articlemto bitch about Game of thrones choice of story telling.

Which, in a funny twist of irony, was coined by the author Myles McNutt.

The Theon scene wasn't exposition.
This has nothing to do with your point, but at least make it correctly.

You are correct, but people would incorrectly point to scenes like that as "sexposition" because they are scenes that are strongly sexual in nature and include or are important to the story.

The theon scene wasn't sexposition, but it also wasn't gratuitous and there for the sake of being there. It served a purpose, and hence falls in line with how many people define "sexposition" even if it wasn't actually exposition.

I'm trying not to spoil anything because I haven't read the 5th book.

But this whole story with Theon in Season 3 is by far the worst this year. I mean honestly, what's the point? For us to feel sympathetic for him?

He and whoever this guy is (I think we all know but I won't say), have been in 6 episodes, and 5 of them have just included pure torture. One other had Theon basically confessing his sins.

But there has been absolutely no progression in this storyline. It's just been torture torture torture. It's at this point boring.

But with that said, what a tough life for the actor playing Theon in that scene. How horrible indeed

To get back to the last episode...

I've never seen anyone walk up a set of stairs with as much contempt as Lord Tywin did. Very impressive. And the fact that he's the only person who can scare the crap out of Joffrey is a plus. It was such a pleasure seeing Joffrey shrink into the great chair as Tywin approached him. Is climbing the stairs to my tower that hard, boy? laugh2.gif However, for once, Joffrey's right. King Robert was, too. Somebody should do something about that Targaryen girl and her dragons. Their heads have surpassed the size of apples, Tywin. And "that girl" has already left two cities scarred. And who's providing Joffrey with insider info, anyway?

Speaking of Dany, her abolishionist/Frederick-Douglass-of-GoT tendencies are very noble, but reading the WiC boards (yeah, I went there) I got an alternate take. Yes, she's noble, but couldn't she be a bit crazy, too? Is it that she's growing immune to seeing people killed? Or is she starting to enjoy burning people; or at least the very prospect of burning people? It adds a fascinating level to her development. It also makes me see Varys' side of things a little clearer. Also, Dany is collecting titles like Pokémon cards now.

Purring dragons are still cool.

There's no way that chain that Tyrion gave Shae won't lead to something very bad happening. To her. Also, Bronn was completely right about Tyrion's motives.

Jon Snow finally knows something. He just had to get back to the other side of the Wall to prove it.

I do feel sorry for Theon now. Whether he lost his "member", got the Westerosi version of a circumcision, or got the full Varys, he's utterly miserable and totally sorry. If he lost his goods, I can't see him wanting to live on, so maybe The Boy will finally kill him. But regardless of what ultimately happens to him, I just want to know why. Just tell us why all this has happened to him and who's behind it.

I really liked hearing Osha's side of things for a change. But whatever's going on with Bran and his new friends, let's get there already! Or let's get at least one significant revelation.

Margaery wants to be Sansa's new BFF. But I think in a whole different way that Sansa believes.

Jaime & Brienne. Robb & Talisa. So much going on there. Too much to cram into here.

Yep, weddings suck.

Queen Cersei is indeed the Queen Bitch of Westeros. Just when I feel a little sorry for her, BAM!, it's gone.

However, Sansa now knows why Cersei drinks so damn much.

The whole "dragon glass" thing was awesome. But why did he leave it behind? Sam! You had one job!

Considering how the Red God rolls, and he rolls hard, Robb is in big trouble. As for Balon (don't care) and Joffrey--well, Joffrey can't die soon enough for me. But, still... worried.gif I am NOT looking forward to the last two episodes. And yet, I must watch. gloomy.gif nailbiting.gif
