Yahoo has the fantasy hockey leagues up and running. New to this year... Divisions and keeper leagues.
Can someone else commish this year, I did it last year but I have too much going on. I will do it if I must but would appreciate it if someone else does it. --------------------    |

I wish I could do it again, but I barely have time to run my 8-year old money league. The same league I used to plan my Septembers, Aprils and Julys around. I barely have time to pee lately.

It seems that this league had multiple Rodent posters in it so I won't be inviting them back. We're going to keep this strictly Rangerland peeps. Verddogg sent me a few email addresses so I'm going to be emailing them invites later today. If you get one of them please send me a PM so I know who you are. That way I can keep track of who has signed up and who hasn't.
I plan on running the league with 12 teams. I'm going to use the same stats and roster positions I use in my other league. If anyone wants something different, this is the place to discuss it. Positions - I personally can't stand having to go by strict roster positions because I like my fantasy games to be fun. So I like to use 6 generic foward slots rather than 2 RW, 2 C and 2 LW slots. I also set it up with 4 defense, 2 goalie and 2 utility slots. I usually do 4 bench slots for a total of 18 rounds of drafting. Feel free to weigh in on this. Stats - I go with the normal stats - Goals, Assits, +/-, PIM, PowerPlayPoints, ShortHandedPoints, ShotsOnGoal for the skaters and Wins, Losses, GoalsAgainstAverage, SavePercentage and ShutOuts for the goalies. I don't like GameWinningGoal stats. I think that they are "lucky" stats and there's no real way to draft for it so I won't have it. Again please feel free to weigh in if you have an opinion. -------------------- |

The league has been setup. Draft day is 9/23/09 at 9pm EST. That should give everyone plenty of time to get to the draft. Please let me know if that date is no good.
I'm sending out the invites to the people I got emails for.

I made one change to the league - No peer review. Everyone is on the honor system here. I have one rule regarding trades:
No trading players you just picked up off waivers. Any player traded must be on your roster for at least one full week before trading him. Otherwise, have at you. I think an early trading deadline will dete people from making dump trades to playoff bound teams. Let me know what you think. -------------------- |
