Weirdly, the 30 minutes special wasn't one of my favorites of theirs. It had bits I liked but was less revelatory than I hoped and felt anti-climactic to me.
I think "I Remember You" is the highlight of Season 4. And hopefully Season 5 keeps it up. -------------------- |

Exactly. All the Jake stuff in the hot tub was great, all the adventure stuff was, well, forgettable is the nicest thing I could say about it.
The show has always worked best with all the backstory and adventure in little bits and pieces, not as the focal point. And thankfully, having seen the preview for next Monday's ep yesterday, it looks like they're back to just being goofy. -------------------- RIP Ass Dan, 1981-2010.

I wouldn't have minded the backstory getting more focus, but I felt like Finn's half was not backstory so much as alternate reality. I really do want to hear more about Marceline and Simon before and after the bomb. When did Marceline get vampirized, etc?

Also, Finn's half didn't tell us anything we don't already know about Finn. Likes: adventure, being the good guy. Dislikes: bad guys. We know.
The only thing his half told us was there was a bomb at some point and it contained/released/created the lich. Meh. -------------------- |

I think that Marceline was already a vampire when we see her in the flashback in I Remember You. She has the fangs at that point.

I have to watch Memory of a Memory again.

My favorite episode, and I believe I've seen them all at least twice, was the one where the Ice King pretended to be a horse to spy on Finn & Jake. Ridiculous, brilliant episode.

Heh. Thanks to that video I got to this one.

I think it's the over-the-top excitement at the end of the theme song that cracks me up that makes me like it so much. The "No tongue!" (wtf?) thing also cracks me up. Get it? Billy? Cracks?
