Every Ranger fan angry about this should complain to MSG. There used to be a fair system in place -- whichever team was on the road got MSG2. Now it's whenever the Rangers and Knicks are head to head, the Rangers get MSG2. Which isn't even in HD in 2012. It's embarrassing. The fact MSG2 isn't in HD is embarrassing that is true. But, the Knicks are fighting for playoff survival now and every game counts. The Rangers did just lock up the Eastern Conference after the last game. I think that weighed into it more than you think. I do think the Rangers play second fiddle which isn't fair, but for this one game I understood why the Knicks got the nod. Now if it happens in the first round when the Knicks still have regular season games, you have every right to be furious. No way that happens. MSG2 is now in HD on Fios, btw Ahh this is what happens when you are away from your FiOS since December! I hope my parents kept it when they moved. Also, yeah it would be ridiculous for a playoff game to get bumped, but last nights Knicks game still had some importance. -------------------- Wade Redden is my hero, and shall be revered forever.

It's very odd that the NHL had the comments fom Torts on the main page of NHL.com, even tweeted about it after the game, then fined him because it's disparaging - not to the league, but to the Penguins.
If the league found the comments to be unacceptable, why promote them? And why no fine on Berube? Or Crosby for his comments today? |

Hey kudos to Torts for speaking the truth, every player on ice knows this though.
You could hear it in the post game interviews with Biron et al. I just want to see the Flyers sweep em off the ice and then our guys get down to going for the cup! I can't stand the league's precieved favortism any more than the next guy but I am more looking forward to our battle for the cup. I want to see the Blueshirts blast em off the ice if they manage to get by the flyers and make em pay that way! Either way though its gonna be a fun post season this year that is for sure. The Flyers are just as hungry as we are to go for the Pens enroute to the cup. I say let the Pens and Flyers trash one another and then we finish off the survivor  That will be fun to see! We know Shanny's in charge of handing out player suspensions. Is there a video or statement out yet explaining why there was on suspension in Orpik's case? And who's in charge of handing out fines, like the one that Torts was hit with?

Just watched NHL Network and they had a repeat of NHL Live w/ EJ Hradek and Deb Placey. They were interviewing Shanny. They ran thru a number of the knee on knee incidents this yr , broke them down by category, i.e. on ice penalty calls, major penalty calls , penalties and a fine and penalties and suspensions.They used the Rupp knee on knee on Jordan Staal where Staal was injured as one of the examples . They ran them in slow motion , stopped the videos , rewinding and showing them several times and based on what I saw it seems to me they got the call right on Orpik when deciding not to suspend him using past incidences as precedent. exactly. and aside from avery being a grabastic bag of pucks, what exactly did he do to catch the ire of the league? nothing on the ice. he didnt run a kid over in a drug crazed drunk driving episode. hell he didnt even kill another player. or players mother. or whatever. he said "sloppy seconds"
this is the kind of stuff that goes on in the nhl that makes me shake my head and think, "what a joke". but hey, i'll probably get a $5 fine for writing this. /shrug. ps. wouldnt it be funny to see hartnell come out with a #87 written in sharpie on a towel ala chicago bears circa 1986? |
