What do you guys think they are? I just found a list of the best local trades by Stan Fischler http://blogs.msg.com/gameon/2010/03/02/ran...es-of-all-time/ It's pretty interesting to see what he thinks but I'm not sure I agree with the list, I think the trade for Messier was the best trade on the list

The Goring trade isn't just remembered as one of the great trades in NY hockey history, but one of the best in all of hockey history.

Melvin hit it right on the head. It's the Goring deal. It took a great regular season team that was also a subpar playoff team and turned them into an absolute beast.

I'm actually surprised the Mogilny-for-Morrison deal isn't on there too.

We're all dancing around the obvious here. The CLEAR answer is Hollweg to Toronto for a 6th rounder. It was a 6th rounder right? I can't remember now.

Memories. Just the other day I was thinking about all those trade-deadline times you were hoping against hope that Olli Jokinen would fall off a Florida pier before ever making it into a Ranger uniform. Whatever happened to him, anyway?

Thankfully, I can't say the Mets have had many really bad trades in a few years now.
But, yes, I agree with you, although I didn't live through it. Mainly based on the things I hear from older Mets fans.

Yeah it's about time the Mets have gone awhile without a bad trade.....them late '90's horror shows were unbearable...then you have, of course, the post-WS bad move obligation.

Fenway Park, in Boston, is a lyric little bandbox of a ballpark. Everything is painted green and seems in curiously sharp focus, like the inside of an old-fashioned peeping-type Easter egg. It was built in 1912 and rebuilt in 1934, and offers, as do most Boston artifacts, a compromise between Man's Euclidean determinations and Nature's beguiling irregularities. - John Updike

Sadly, we all knew it would happen eventually. The shock is that you've handled it so well. Last I checked, the hooker population of your surrounding area hasn't suffered any odd shifts towards extinction. Yet, anyway.
