I can come to terms with the senseless violence, I understand that bad things happen to good people and that God doesn't intercede in mortal affairs in the way we might want him to, but what I don't understand is why he dyed his hair red. Doesn't the Joker have green hair? What, was Sally's Beauty Supply out of Electric Lizard Manic Panic or something?

To be fair, I don't think he was really complaining, it seems like the Washington media prompted him, and he said it's hard but never used it as an excuse. One of the media even jumped in and said "but he's played 100 of games here and you've played 2" and he said "It doesn't matter, it's my job to adjust to it"

This wasn't a situation of Thomas bitching about it after a loss, it was him being forced to answer stupid questions by a media desperate to find out why their war horse looked easy to beat on Saturday afternoon.

My initial response to that when I watched it was, 'You didn't have a problem beating us a few weeks ago with the same lighting.' But hey, if he comes out tonight and blocks every damn shot taken to that net then praise him for adjusting so quickly.

Chopchop posted this in the game 1 thread:

''It's not exactly your typical building. It was good to play in it,'' Holtby said. ''More (comfortable) than I was expecting. Especially darker buildings, usually it impacts the goalies more than usual. It wasn't that bad.

''It's just a different color in there. It's almost a yellow. That's mainly the thing. It's still a sheet of ice the same size as everyone else.''

--
Our 2nd home is yellow? I had no idea. Does Coldplay know about this?

Don't know where he got the quotes from so I'll leave it to him to follow up with the source.

EDIT: So in other words, the lighting is OK when the Caps win, but when they lose its something that needs to be adjusted to.

Henrik prefers to play in dimmed lighting. It's more romantic that way--and it brings out his eyes better. fruity.gif

Hopefully Rocha's prediciton about it dying out in about 5 years is an overestimation. You can hear the whistle loud and clear, but it's relatively silent afterward (TV audio). I've been convinced for a while now that some younger people go to games just to chant that.

So if Boyle plays does he go back to the #3 center?

Or does Torts give him 4th line minutes to have him get his groove back and keep Artie as a #3 center. I thought that 3rd line did pretty well so I wouldn't mind having Boyle get fewer minutes at even strength tonight and really target him for PK duty and key defensive draws.

Don't hold your breath on that one.

When asked about Kreider during the post-game 1 presser, Torts changed the subject and brought up the contributions of 'Mitch' and his line. Pretty sure we know who 'Mitch' is, and getting mentions during the presser most likely does not mean a ticket to Palookaville (aka Hartford).

If.. and I understand it's a big "if", Boyle comes back tonight, can we please see Mitchell packing his bag and never to return again?

No, because the only other options would be Scott and Eminger. Once Dubi comes back we can.

"It looks like the lineup decision will come down to Boyle or enforcer John Scott, who has not dressed for a game since March 9. Steve Eminger, who was used as a forward in Game 1, was back skating as a defenseman this morning and stayed on the ice late as an extra with Jeff Woywitka. To me, that signals that the Rangers are very hopeful Boyle will be able to play tonight."

If Boyle sits, I really hope Scott doesn't dress.

Eminger, a guy who has never played forward before looked much more comfortable as a winger than Sasquatch. He knows how to defend if they're up against it in their own zone and he also did a halfway decent job of forechecking.

Again, if Boyle plays though, I hope they keep him to Rupp type even strength minutes. The Anisimov led 3rd line did fine last game. If the team comes out flat and sucks, then fine...adjust

But ideally, I'd like to see Boyle get under 10 minutes of ice time tonight to adjust.

Yeah, if Boyle is a no go, I'm ok with Eminger coming in at forward again.

Caps down and coming full bore means playing a less than 100% Boyle is asking for trouble - and possibly further re-injury to Boyle.

Keep him out and let Emminger play a few more shifts at wing.

That works too, I'm just saying going with 7 D is a better idea than John Scott. Caps aren't fighters and Scott can't really skate.

I'm stuck in a hotel in the middle of Massachusetts with no Versus....err whatever NBC calls themselves now. Are these games streamed online now that they are on "national" TV?

Never thought I would miss Cablevision for anything...

I changed that to my jimmies no longer being rustled after 2. They lost, so I changed it back. Even though it makes no sense since the Rangers lost 4 and 5, I feel like I can't change it now.

I think only the regular NBC games are streamed. You can always get a feed on firstrowsports.eu though.
