I like Nikki Minaj. I also like MIA. So I was squealing when they both came out with Madonna last night. DIRTY HO-BAGS FOR EVERYONE!

I like MIA fine, and I have no familiarity with any of Nicki Minaj's other songs, but that song is just absolutely eardrum waterboarding.

I actually think Nicki Minaj is pretty damn talented, and I like her style, but that song is obnoxious.

Ok, I put on "I'm The Best" from her last album, and it's pretty good. Not really something I can see myself listening to on even an irregular basis, but it's got a good sound and she's talented. I just can't deal with the backing track for "Stupid Hoe." It's excruciating.

See, I like weird and different so she gets points for that but, as Kusand points out, the song itself is pretty turrible.

And the real drama is that Minaj made this as dis track for Lil Kim. She just rips her to shreds.

I posted something about this in the I LIKE thread a few days aho - the A.V. Club's comment was pretty hilarious.

http://www.avclub.com/articles/bet-will-no...-hoe-tha,68681/

I want to like Minaj more than I do, because I agree that she's pretty talented and unique, but yeah, that video makes my spine convulse.

I like her because she's weird and different also but like Kusand, that one's grating. For me it's more the chorus though.

I kinda like it now. Sort of reminds me of "Woo Hah!" by Busta Rhymes. Oddly catchy, despite sound effects that you would otherwise think would drive you insane.

Already a fan, but I like it (although it's not her best work - just getting a lot of play because of the uproar over its banning from BET).

I guess if I didn't often have to listen to the soul-less, overtly auto-tuned pablum that passes for top 40 so often, I wouldn't value the few glints of originality and talent that shine through that oobleck, but I do so I do.

Put it this way, if Nicki Minaj can be successful in that arena, she has talent flying out her quite abundant ass.

Also a big M.I.A. fan - 'Galang' has been on my high rotation list off and on for 5 years.

I oddly like it, and I like the fact that she's a weirdo and having fun with it. Comparing her to Busta Rhymes isn't an insult at all, that guy is amazing and I love his bizarre videos even more. I'm always down for an artist that can be really odd ans quirky and have some really odd thought out unique videos, like Busta, Missy Elliot, and Ludacris.

Its like having a seizure or at the minimum causing a seizure.

It causes me little reaction only to state that it is the upgrade of what has been done in the past. It is here and it will be gone next week dismissed as a gimmick song.

Did Busta ever go as superficial as a chorus that repeated "You a stupid ho" over and over? I mean, it's not even a good insult.

Edit: There's kinda of a Devo quality to it. I feel dirty.

I preferred this act 15 years ago, when it was Busta Rhymes doing it.

Did Busta ever go as superficial as a chorus that repeated "You a stupid ho" over and over? I mean, it's not even a good insult.

Edit: There's kinda of a Devo quality to it. I feel dirty.

Yeah, you're right - I was just going for the whole Hype Williams video vibe.

I miss Busta. Why isn't he more active?

Also known as one of the most over-rated movies of all time. It's an OK movie people, nothing more.

If you didn't say it, I would have.

Being in college, I have to listen to people verbally fellate that movie all the time. Saw it once, that was enough for me.

As for "Stupid Hoe," I heard it the other night at a party. Can't say I enjoyed it, but no song will ever make me contemplate suicide like "Hollaback Girl" or "My Humps" did.

He is, here's his latest video. Sadly he's doing stuff with Rhianna beater, also a lot of weight lifting.
