Not exactly a sport, but is anyone doing this? It's quite interesting if you like to learn/read up on the stock market. I've been quite so-so with my portfolio, but the other day....

WOOOHOOO!!!! I only wish i actually made that money, though.........

I've been running a portfolio for the last few years now. I started by following it super closely, and slowly lost interest over time.

A few days ago I gave up on picking stocks and put most of my money in a Vanguard fund.

Best stock pick: SciClone Pharmaceuticals. A pharm company that deals mainly in China. Made a killing on it (buying at just over 2 and selling the other day at around 6.40)

Worst stock pick: Vale. One of the largest mining conglomerates in the world. It pays a hefty dividend, and has very good earnings/margins, so I expected it to do well. While the dividends have been wonderful, I made the mistake of investing in a foreign company without looking closely enough into it. The mix of different regulations, management structures, and growth standards make foreign companies harder to evaluate than domestic ones. Bought at 32 dollars and is trading today just over 23. Didn't put as much money into it as I did into SCLN, and the dividend has made up for some of the losses, but I still have lost hard on it.

I can come to terms with the senseless violence, I understand that bad things happen to good people and that God doesn't intercede in mortal affairs in the way we might want him to, but what I don't understand is why he dyed his hair red. Doesn't the Joker have green hair? What, was Sally's Beauty Supply out of Electric Lizard Manic Panic or something?

Gotta be careful where you put money when it's a foreign company.

I thrived with these company in my portfolio history since i started (a while ago)

Earthlink
Motorola
EA
Prudential (best one)

I got screwed with a Pharm company. I forgot what it was called but they did a nasal product.

Anyway, i keep staying in the top 50% on a daily basis in the fantasy, but in less than 10 market days i went from around $100,000 to now $91,000. Market keeps going down sad.gif

Adorned with exquisite tulle rosettes and dotted with scattered sequins, discount bridesmaid dresses, this soft and fitted bodice glitters away in several shades of red, discount Mother of The Bride Dresses, connected with a silky bowtie at the front. The pleated flaring skirt droops down to the knee-length hemline, offering a cute look.
