Those who have not furthered the species yet get like this from time to time. It shall pass.

When young women reach estrus the... ah... lingam... um... craves the stamen-like skills of the yoni. This is quite natural.

It's not funny. It's not fun.

Fenway Park, in Boston, is a lyric little bandbox of a ballpark. Everything is painted green and seems in curiously sharp focus, like the inside of an old-fashioned peeping-type Easter egg. It was built in 1912 and rebuilt in 1934, and offers, as do most Boston artifacts, a compromise between Man's Euclidean determinations and Nature's beguiling irregularities. - John Updike

Sigh. Everyone gets their days mixed up! (It just so happens that not all of them post their mistakes in bold and in huge font.)

But of course. When you join the Cult of Brett, greatness just finds you. Everything Brett does is infused with magic, and that extends to his supporters.

It's true. Pete made his picks two minutes before the deadline by randomly clicking on the screen and hitting submit.

Pete was a little too conservative with his picks. He needs to spend less time thinking about his picks, and more time just randomly selecting and going. When you've got an index finger like Pete, you've got to let it loose.

About which I would like to lodge an official protest with the commissioner, by the way. I have it on good authority that he is part of a league of bearded nabobs who have been using arcane Eastern knowledge regarding offal and stages of the moon to manipulate "friendly" pick 'em league results. "Towards what end?" is the question that all responsible citizens should ask. Of what benefit to their nefarious schemes is this statistically improbable performance? We could wait and find out but the more reasonable course of action would be to take up pitchforks and stab them repeatedly while they sleep, while they wait for their subways and flying carpets or in line at the supermarket/liquor store.

Just a thought for next year - how would you guys feel about playing with the confidence points? I'm actually playing in a second group this year with the confidence rankings and it's definitely made things more interesting. Yahoo also makes it really easy to play in multiple groups; it lets you import your picks from one to another so that you're not completely reentering picks. It would be really easy for us to run parallel pick'em sets next year if anybody's into the idea.

Okay, it was set to "5 minutes before the first game of the week" which stinks. I changed it to "5 minutes before each game". You should be good now. Sorry about that!

Aw. I kind of enjoyed getting to browse everyone's pick set once the games started. But, better than depriving Bavoo.

Well, once he gets his picks in we can always change it back. If for some reason, someone misses a Thursday we can always change it again.

Crikey man -- No one was going to catch you after the start you got off to. This was my worst year yet. Such a bizarre, crazy year. Every week had several head scratchers.

If it makes you feel any better, I still would have won even if you'd gone 13/13 in week 4?

I know.

But I can pretend that it would have catapulted me to better picks going forward!?!?!?!
