So how bad form is it to buy a gamer and have it stripped and recustomized?

tongue3.gif nono.gif emot-argh.gif thumbsdown_anim.gif punch.gif scratch.gif Bad form. Besides why not buy a blank ? It's a lot cheaper and you're not ruining a game worn jersey in the process.

A pre-season/training camp jersey of a no-name player is about the only time I think this is okay to do.

A true "gamer" worn in a regular season or playoff game shouldn't be stripped in my opinion.

Game Issued are a different story because they have never seen the ice. I would strip one of them if it were cheap enough and I wanted the style that bad.

Figured that might rile some people up. smile.gif

It's an older-style jersey that I can't find blank anymore. Player is someone I consider worthless but someone else might not. This one's got COA and everything so I'm not going to destroy it, might have done it if game use couldn't be confirmed.

Often you get can game worn jerseys cheaper than a retail blank jersey. Of course this is normally the case with no-name players and/or pre-season training camp jerseys.

Also with the recent RBK Edge debacle the only way to get the same jerseys players wear on the ice (the Edge 2.0) you have to get a game worn, game issue, or team issue (blank) jersey.

It's a Kyle Quincey Grand Rapids Griffins jersey. I've had a horrible time finding pre-Edge Griffins jerseys (even replicas) that aren't tiny.

But if anyone here is interested, it's got a Buy it Now of $204.95. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Grand-Rapids-Griff...2#ht_500wt_1085

Eh I just figured the '94 ones were rarer. They were worn in like 2 games! but seriously if you are buying a 1991 TBTC jersey just to strip it, I may never be able to look you in the eye again. Even though I've never done that anyway.

EDIT: Just saw its a Griffins jersey. They pop up my suggestion is just to keep searching on eBay.

Anyone know where I can find a high resolution picture of the Iceland jersey from Might Ducks 2?

I want to be Gunnar Stahl for halloween and need to find a large picture of the front to attach to a black jersey I already have.

I know some of you will appreciate this. I picked up Jan Erixon's road jersey from the 1991-92 season the other day:

Not a ton of wear on it but it's still cool as hell to have a Jan Erixon jersey.

Not hockey but just picked up an Orioles John Shelby gamer in this style. I really like the Baltimore script on the the roads. This is going to be my Christmas present.Edit: BTW this does not imply that I want an Orioles cap from my Secret Santa

Another non jersey related post, but I figured I'd post it here. I picked up the Rangers Winter Classic baseball cap yesterday. Had no intention of seeking it out. I was Christmas shopping and just happened across it and thought, "That's a pretty sweet fucking hat" .

I Like: nothing.

I Don't Like: much of anything.

So I was at dicks sporting goods yesterday and came across the winter classic replica jerseys. Something odd I noticed is the material and construction of these jerseys look at feel like the old ccm replica jerseys. Way lower quality feel than the regular home/away and heritage jersey. Also the logo and numbers/lettering are made of a weird fuzzy felt like material. Disappointed in the choice in materials and for a whopping 200 bucks no less.

Yeah the replicas are the CCM 550 cut. And are airknit. Hopefully they are offering retail authentics, but most likely not.

That totally sucks. I hated those ccm jerseys. They're junk. Why aren't they edge cut? I was hoping the white strip on the shoulder would be the same material as the white stripes on the heritage jersey. Now I really don't want one.

I'm thinking Callahan for the Heritage and either Lundqvist (boring I know!), McDonogh or Girardi for the Winter Classic.

I can do the Heritage jerseys. The only thing I won't be able to get is the nameplate because of the curve. It's incredibly hard to cut curved nameplates without a template and I have no template OR larger pieces of plate material to cut them from. If that's not an issue, I can just put the name right to the back of the jersey.

EDIT: I can probably get the Winter Classic stuff too if you guys don't mind twill instead of felt. I have yet to find a place that can cut the felt like they wore on the ice.

I would also like to give a shoutout to blue in this regard. He's saved a few jerseys for me, including one where I should have paid him double, but eventually I just bought more jerseys from him.

He's a stickler for accuracy too, so your jerseys are in good hands.

I Don't Like: The World Wide Web

I have a couple of NFL jersey questions. I promised myself that if The Giants made the Superbowl I'd get an authentic Manning Jersey.

1) How do the sizes run? I typically wear a medium for shirts, fleeces and etc. I'm obviously not wearing this thing over pads.

2) Anyone have a good source? I've been searching all morning and no one's got an authentic Manning jersey in blue.

You probably won't find one without either having to settle for a tent-sized jersey or paying out the ass for it on a site like nflshop.com. I'd say eBay is your best bet but I can pretty much guarantee that all the ones there are just knock-off crap.

I was totally going to buy it through the official store but they don't have them in stock! Do they seriously not have a ready stock of Jerseys for quarterbacks playing in the Superbowl? That seems crazy to me.

Well, the problem is that the NFL is changing suppliers at the end of the year. Nike will be the exclusive dealer instead of Reebok. So, most teams don't have anything left as there wasn't much of a point in ordering anything extra at the end of the year. Combine that with the fact that the retarded masses are buying up everything in sight because the Giants are now in the Super Bowl and it means you won't be able to sniff a legit Giants jersey anywhere outside of a size 40(bologna skin) or size 60(car cover).

Honestly, I could probably get you a legit blank and have it done up as a Manning but it A: would probably be in the size range of a 56/58(essentially XXXL) and B: would take a lot longer than two weeks to do.

I definitely don't need it in two weeks but I do in fact want it to fit wink.gif I could go the "custom" route and then have the customize it as Manning but I refuse to pay extra for something that should be an off the shelf item.

I'm in no rush. I'm not going to wear it for the game, I just promised myself I would get one if the Giants made it.

That's why I don't collect NFL stuff. Not only is the quality sub-par to the on-field product but the process is ridiculous and you end up paying close to $300 at retail for what is essentially a glorified short-sleeved shirt.

Hey Tex,

What happened was your order was incomplete (no size, name, or number was specified), and attempts were made by Rinkgear and myself to reach you to get that information, but we had no luck. We had to move forward with production of the Browncoats batch, and that meant cancelling your order and issuing a refund. Really sorry about that.

If you can please wait for a few months, a Browncoats 2.0 jersey will be offered (probably in June), featuring a different design and a patch for the 57th Overlanders.

If you're up for the next Browncoats jersey I will personally tend to your order and ensure it goes through without a hitch.

Again sorry for giving you the boot. Production forced our hand there.

Thanks! -Dave
