I was one of the first ones to want him off the active lineup at the beginning of the year, but he's impressed me. While he's still a bit of a liability defensively, he's nowhere near as bad as he was when he started, and his steady improvement tells me he can continue to improve in that area. He also throws the body more and better than he did, and usually cleanly. He makes the occasional offensive play now, and his fighting, the main reason he's here, has picked up tremendously. He's kicked the crap out of a lot of heavyweights this year, and he's won most of fights and never really gotten dominated or beat up. He's really grown on me as a player, and in my eyes has made Hollweg completely useless.

Speaking of Colton Orr, did anybody catch Orr and Renney sharing a laugh when Dubi was "tangling" with Richards? Renney probably told Colton that the kid needs more lessons and Colton responded,"And how!!"
Love the spirit of Dubi, sticks up for his mates even though he can't fight a lick. Last Ranger who i remember seeing like that was Earl Ingarfield. He was bigger than Dubi and was always willing to drop the gloves but lost every fight I ever saw him in. I thought Dubi was the worse fighter on this team until I saw Tyutin..UGHHHHH!!! -------------------- Chocolate makes your clothes shrink

Remember how we were all complaining about Orr's fighting ability last season. Ever since the Fedoruk thing it seems like he's got some confidence in his fighting ability and it's led to wins. Orr actually irked me a bit the other night after his fight with Parros. When he went off the ice he had such a cocky look about him that was just annoying. He had the same look yesterday after the fight with Cote, and then again later in the third. I just hope he doesn't get too cocky because it may come back and bite him in the ass.

I still don't think he's that great of a fighter, but he's certainly improved.

He blocked a shot on one play with his ass and didn't feel a thing! Another fighter on the team would help. Dubi and Tyutin definitely not the guys! -------------------- Chocolate makes your clothes shrink

I still don't think he's that great of a fighter, but he's certainly improved. Speaking of fighting, why aren't penalties called against guys who fight without removing their face shields? It happened again yesterday with Downie. Rangers should complain to the head of officials about this. -------------------- Chocolate makes your clothes shrink

Orr's Fighting this season has put him in the top 5 for fighters. Even a few rival fans had those same thoughts.
Not to mention he doesn't take needless penaltys like the useless Hollweg. -------------------- |

Rangers should complain to the head of officials about this. I was wondering the same thing . I remember years ago when Kovalev was still on the team he removed his helmet and Davidson remarked how he did that so he wouldn't be called for a penalty. I don't mind so much if a guy who doesn't normally fight forgets to remove it ,but a guy like Richards who was dropping the gloves every chance he got should have definitely gotten a penalty |

I still don't think he's that great of a fighter, but he's certainly improved. He's definitely not that great, but he's a heavyweight nonetheless. I was gonna put in a comment about how the NHL has the game playing faster, and too fast for some guys out there that would probably be ruthless heavyweights, but I think the game has slowed down since the debut of the "new" nhl. Clutch and grab hockey is coming back I think. It may not be as slow as it was before the removal of the red line, but it's not what i thought the NHL envisioned with their new product. But i digress.. <insert Vince McMahon banter here> -------------------- |

If he wasn't slower than shit I could even see him getting a little more than 4th line duty.

It looks like Orr is fighting to get into a good skating stride. He skates like he is running instead of gliding. Meh, he ain't here to do pirouettes.
