Apparently Mitchell was 4 for 6 over his career in the shootout prior to this season. facepalm.gif

But Mitchell is 0-4 in the SO this season. At some point he's gotta give a more obvious candidate a shot over Mitchell. Hell, give McDonagh and Del Zotto their turns. Going back to Mitchell again the rest of this season would be Tortorella being too stubborn for the team's good.

But 0-4 isnt a bad percentage, yet. Henrik has said multiple times in interviews that an NHL level goaltender should stop 7/8 of 10. If he shows every day that hes a top guy on the team in practice, he's the guy you go to.

This is probably the only part of the game where this theory can be applicable because its so individual reliant.

Richards being 0-8 now, I'll start to hear this argument. But even then, he's a top guy on the team. Everyone is gonna look at him anyway.

You cant just go throwing defenseman out there on a feel.

I Like: Callahan, Sauer and PJ Stock!

I Don't Like: The Devils, the city of Philadelphia and fake Pens fans.

This team is not going to be a true Cup contender when your 3rd line has 14 combined goals. That's super duper they can stifle a first line here or there. But in the playoffs, that's going to happen to us when we go against the 3rd/4th lines. This team doesn't need Rick Nash. They need competent 3rd line guys who can forecheck, but have an ability to score more than 8 goals in a season.
