Sounds like there's a lot of Habs fans there. Too bad it took them 56 minutes to have something to cheer. It's all your fault! -------------------- |

Sounds like there's a lot of Habs fans there. Too bad it took them 58 minutes to have something to cheer. Tee hee. I went to the first Habs game back in November and noticed that they had a good amount of fans in the building (probably a 65-35 split). Most of the Original 6 fans travel well in fact. Fuck this Team Positive / Team Negative bullshit; it's looking like we might have a chance to wrap this party up Sunday night against the Bruins. Flyers visiting the Pens Sunday afternoon, and even an OT loss there and the Rangers can stick a fork in this race right then and there.
Absolutely fucking love it. What a game tonight; not only beat Montreal, but straight up shit on their faces. So pumped right now, and can't wait for Sunday night because I think the Flyers are going to help us out on Sunday and give us a chance to do this at home. |

From looking at the standings here are some scenarios for the weekend:
1. Round 1 Home Ice: A Flyers loss to Ottawa tomorrow afternoon means that the Rangers will have home ice in the first round (locked into either 1 or 4 seed) 2. Division/1 Seed: On Sunday, a Flyers win over the Pens and a Rangers win over the Bruins gives the Rangers the division and locks them into the 1 seed (This scenario is not linked to the first one. Home ice is clinched in this scenario regardless of what happens tomorrow to the Flyers) |

Does it matter if Pittsburgh gets a point in an OTL or SOL?

Does it matter if Pittsburgh gets a point in an OTL or SOL? A Pittsburgh regulation loss means the Rangers only have to go to OT against the Bruins to clinch division. If Pens get a loser point Rangers need a win. This post has been edited by blueshirt95: Mar 30 2012, 10:55 PM |

Does it matter if Pittsburgh gets a point in an OTL or SOL? Not if the Rangers win in any manner. The magic number is three points, so if we get two and the Pens lose a point, then we clinch 1st. -------------------- |

This also appears to be the best Rangers' season since '94, at least in the standings. Of course that doesn't mean shit for the playoffs, as Washington has demonstrated more than once. But yeah, thinks look up for the moment

I didn't realize Buffalo has an upcoming home and home with the Maple Flops. That's probably a 4 easy points. Let's see...
Ottawa - 88pts. @PHI, @NYI, CAR, BOS, @NJD Washington - 86pts. MON, @TBL, FLA, @NYR Buffalo - 86pts. @TOR, TOR, @PHI, @BOS Gotta like the chances of Ottawa to hanging onto 7th, and that'll be a hell of a finish between Washington and Buffalo. -------------------- RIP Ass Dan, 1981-2010.

“With the skill we have, we’re going to be able to score goals,” Del Zotto said. “You see just the way we’re moving the puck, we’re moving bodies.
“We’re not predictable. Teams don’t know exactly where we’re going to be attacking from or what’s going to be happening. That’s what makes us deadly right now.” Sure Torts will love that one. |

We have moved up to 25th on the PP in the last two games. Good to see.
Also, Richards has 30 points in the last 30 games. That is a fucking amazing sign to see him doing so well going into the playoffs. Yes, because it was completely moronic to believe a team that was 12-0-1 in its past 13 games and 1 point behind the Rangers would pass a Rangers team that had a sub .500 record over a 6 week span. Seriously? I'm glad the Rangers are winning and you as well as everyone else has good reason to be excited right now. But it's pretty ridiculous to call people morons when the momentum was clearly in Pittsburgh's favor. By the way, it's also not over yet. Yes, the Rangers have a very good shot to win the division and No. 1 seed. With luck, it can all be decided by tomorrow night. We have moved up to 25th on the PP in the last two games. Good to see. Also, Richards has 30 points in the last 30 games. That is a fucking amazing sign to see him doing so well going into the playoffs. This is the key. Although it's been a lttle bit of a rollercoaster ride in the past few weeks, the PP has finally started to come together. That may be the most (or at least one of) important factor throughout the Playoffs. -------------------- "Good people drink good beer."— Hunter S. Thompson |

As for the presidents trophy race, the Blues have a good hand, they're playing the jackets tonight, an almost sure win.
And will have three more games after that: Wings @Coyotes @Stars Dont know if we can lock 1st in the league. -------------------- ![]() |

I don't know.
Frankly, while the records won't say it, I think their schedule is harder. Jackets aside, you have a game against Detroit, who is fighting tooth and nail for home ice advantage, and then two teams desperate to make the postseason. While the Rangers have quality opponents, no one has that innate fear of missing out on the postseason, and in Detroit's case, they may be the worst road team to make the playoffs out of the west, so they really need home ice -------------------- |

I'm so sick and tired of those USA chants whenever we play the Habs. Not only are there Americans on their team, but everyone who scored a goal for us last night? Canadian.

why does w o o t turn into hurr? because there was a time, a while back, where I may have overused *W00T* in posts and it got modified as a passive/aggressive "scroo-u" for comedic result. Meh. I use zeroes instead, now. Thank you Ree, although Gaborik isn't Canadian, it's the dumbest fucking chant ever. Just be prepared for the backlash as I've been fighting this fight for awhile now. |

Poor Eric. He attempted to shake my hand while I was standing in the beer line, only to have me completely rebuke him by not knowing who he was and then I basically blew him off to go and talk to the guy in the other line who was wearing a Steve Larmer game-worn jersey. Sorry about that dude. It had nothing to do with you; just bad timing.
