Considering Pronger's age his contract is just as stupid IMO. He still has 5 more years on it, it's a 35 plus contract AND it has a no movement clause.

 The thing that had me worried about Philly is an emotional let down and it seems that is exactly what happened. They went from the team that goaded the Pens into stupid stuff to becoming that team against New Jersey. There was so much talk both locally in PA and nationally about how epic a series it would be since what....mid February? I give New Jersey a LOT of credit here, namely, they almost literally turned the other cheek whenever the Flyers would do something stupid and/or dirty. They stopped it from becoming a Pens/Flyers sideshow and in doing so, obliterated the Flyers. I hate the Caps and Devils, but living here now, I just can't stand both PA teams and even moreso their fans. I could grudgingly tip my cap to the Caps if they win and probably the Devils too since they're a team that's been told by most that they're not a real threat. Kovi isn't a big time playoff player and doesn't care. Brodeur is too old. They have no one on defense. Their broke. Parise doesn't want to be there etc. etc. etc. All they've done is pretty much keep their mouths shut and follow their coach's lead which is calm, composed and completely devoid of drama. I may hate the Devils, but I at least respect all of that. -------------------- |

Anyone else notice the Devils doing some throwback schemes last night by deploying the trap? Should be a fun next series, regardless who they play.

You know, I realized how lucky the NHL has been with their last 3 Conference Finals.

I think they have always played a trapping game. Exception this year is they forecheck/pressure more instead of waiting you out in their side of the ice. Why are some of these athletes just so insanely stupid? They're on facebook. They use Twitter. Do they now know this kind of crap will go viral in about 3.7 seconds? What an absolute moron.
Chicago at this point would be wise to get rid of him as soon as possible before he does something really bad that will kill any trade value he has. I could definitely see this guy having some "Big Ben" issues with women. -------------------- |
