Our close family friend, basically an uncle to me, from Belgium has come to visit us again. Telling so many stories of his adventures around the world (this is a guy who ate just about anything, slept on trees, and had to run from a revolt in Africa). What he is so good at, though, is drinking. At 11 am, he started making Mai Tais. At lunch you can only imagine what we drank. We went out shopping, with his wife who is so mellow and kind. We come back and i went to a get together at a bar. Had a couple of beers on tap (Blanche de Bruxelles; excellent beer). Come back home...more cocktails. We cook dinner. We drink two bottle of red wine. He then had rum, and i had Glenfiddich (which i am finishing the bottle now; such a shame).

I am of the belief that alcohol can't make you weak or stupid. It does not even depend how much you drink. It depends how you drink it. I believe it opens up your mind and inspires you. I used to write romantic poetry to whoever was my girl at the time, after drinking. Because of these wonderful drinks, i actually can just sit back, relax, sip...and think.

It has been wicked weather here in South Florida. Scattered rain and thunder, lightning. It kinda sucks. But...as you are reading this, there are some thunders from afar, and right now it is raining. So close your eyes.....and do you hear it? Can you listen to it? And as you are listening to it....do you hear the music? The bass.....and keyboards. And you hear a unique singing voice saying.... "Riders on the storm....Riders on the storm". I love this song so much to listen to with earbugs and max volume.

As i am listening to this and looking at that unique photo of the Rangers on home ice, with Messier jumping up, and Larmer finishing his check in the corner, and Richter raising his arms....i can't help but find this song so....fitting.

Into this house we are born. Yes...our hearts and love for the Rangers, and their Rangers blood, are born at MSG. It is OUR house.

These Rangers are thrown into this world.... Kreider, McDonagh...Hagelin.

Right now these Rangers are dogs without bones...... they are riders on the storm.

The Devils are the killer on the road. Let the children play...let these Rangers play, but if they give this man, the Devils, a ride...sweet memory will die..... killer on the road.

Our girls on here must love their man. Their favorite Ranger. That the world, our world as Rangers fans, depends on you. You must love these Rangers. These...riders on the storm.

The thunders i hear are getting further away. The flashes i see breaking through my window's blinds are getting softer..... it is a gorgeous song. Gorgeous poetry by one of the best writers in rock's history. These Rangers are riding on this storm.... and we are too. Believe in this team. Believe in 1994 what we thought back then as most unlikely to come back. It is time to devote all of your positivity, thoughts....prayers, rituals, and superstitions. We're riding this storm with these Rangers. Listen to this song as you relax and wait for the moment to arrive.

Morning fellow Rangerlanders. I had a revelation on my 10 hours of flights yesterday to get home. This guys:

I cant wait to watch them lose in New Jersey tomorrow! Should be SO MUCH FUN listening to Devils fans taunt me when we lose. Because they are just such a great franchise it makes it even better.

Just saw the highlights and the recap. Ugh.

I still want to believe, but its going to be hard. Maybe sitting in the same building as those fuck face fans and team will help, but right now this sucks.

He's a fucking dumbass. This is game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals against our most hated Rivals in the league and he is cracking sarcastic jokes about losing to hide the hurt from game 5. Well fuck him. Game 5 happened. It is in the past, no matter how much we would like to have it back, and this team is one game away from elimination as much as we would like it to be 3-2 in our favor. But it is not. So fuck it. We should be all in and supporting this team because what else do we have to lose? This is a team we have loved sine day 1 followed for 101 games so far, and we owe it to the Rangers to have faith for game number 102.

Why would you be all negative just to hide the excitement and potential disappointment of this thrilling season? Isn't this what we CRAVE as sports fans? That our team overcomes everything and shows us what it takes to be champions? So what if there is the potential for heartbreak? It doesn't matter. Believe. And watch the unreal unfold. Let's go Rangers, Do us proud tonight. I believe, and I will be there.

Dubi was awesome in game 5 in breaking up the Devils forecheck and getting the puck out of the Defensive zone, more of that please. Yes he don't score, yes he turns the puck over but don't underestimate his strength of holding on to it better than any other Ranger ( do you hear that Marion!? ).

Someone here said that the Devils 4th line wouldn't be the difference in this series. On the contrary I think they've been the entire difference between the Rangers being up 3-2, or already being in the Finals.

Not only has their 4th line put up some great pressure which ours occasionally does, they're also on the score sheet constantly.

It's the thing we need to improve on in future years whether we win or not tonight. We need a 4th line like theirs. Not one that combines for 10 goals in a year and 0 in the postseason.

If they win tonight, I think they take Game 7.. The problem is I don't they win it tonight. The only thing I will say is this team is a resilient bunch. I'm just worried Game 5 was very similar to Game 4 vs the caps last year.

Everyone was so amped. The team...the crowd.. only to be brutally let down.

I think the team has learned from that very let down, and added some guys with grit enough to prevent another let down. Sadly, it takes having all the marbles on the line to get it out of them, but, here we go.

As for the famous Messier missive, the type of hype that plays so well in Manhattan, Brodeur claims not to remember it at all.
