Just discovered my new favorite summer beer. Shock Top now has a seasonal Lemon Shandy. Had one the deck this afternoon after finishing 2 hrs of yard work. Deeee-licious! This is now my summer afternoon on the deck go-to beer.

This means at next year's CT hockey tournament we don't have to worry about buying beer Saturday night for our Sunday post tournament parking lot beer fest. The team goal every year is to make the final so we can drink in parking lot Sunday .

I am still really proud of myself for my conduct last weekend (outdoor rehearsal dinner + wedding of total party people). I managed to keep alternating with seltzer both nights, and yes I did get pleasantly inebriated, but not enough to fall down or puke or otherwise make a total ass of myself.
I mean SERIOUSLY. The "champagne toast" was shots of homemade Everclear-based medivka. My table was obviously the super-extra-fun table, so we made it a point to go swipe half-full bottles from other tables and wear their table numbers like the scalps of the defeated. Many, many seasoned drinkers who weigh a lot more than I do did not make it through like I did. \m/

The grocery store near where we are staying has a terrific selection of beers. Picked myself up a bottle of Southern Tier 2X IPA and DFH Indian Brown Ale for the next couple of evenings, and a bomber of DFH Pangaea to bring home.

I've had that Major Peters mix. It's pretty good. I never thought of the Old Bay. I'll have to try that. No Tabasco though? I always throw at least four or five dashes of that in with everything. I love a spicy-as-fuck Bloody Mary.

Went to Barley Creek Brewing Co. In Tannersville PA today for lunch. Did a flight of four of their brews (IPA, Belgian white, export ale, and breakfast stout) and a glass of their Mocha Latte Stout (10.0 ABV). All were good, but I've had better IPAs.
