So, I'm a mong when it comes to this stuff. Would you make this trade?

I lose: Michael Turner.

I get: Ladanian Tomlinson, Reggie Bush, Tim Hightower.

There's one week where it seems like all of my RBs have Byes, so this would help to fix that. If it helps, my other RBs are Darren McFadden & Michael Bush (yeah, I know - AutoDraft). I'd also still have to clear some bench space.

Nope. You're giving up the best player in the trade, and getting back way too many guys.

Dont do it.

Would you do this:

I lose: Matt Stafford

I get: Calvin Johnson

I am deep at QB and thin at WR. I proposed the trade. Would you do that if your starter was Joe Flacco?

Myeh. I think I like Stafford more than Flacco this season.

For the record the other guys has Flacco. So he's losing his top WR and getting Stafford to replace Flacco. Once Dez Bryant gets to form he'd become my top WR. I need someone better.

Who are your QBs?

Josh Freeman and Bam Bam Cam. But I have Mendenhall, Turner, and Fred Jackson as starting RBs. My two WRs are Mike Thomas and Mike Williams (with Dez Bryant Hurt).

Yeah, I would do that trade in a second.

I always feel a little sick to my stomach when I pull off a big trade. I just took a big gamble and traded Jones-Drew for Steve Smith (Carolina.)

My entire WR core shit the bed this week and it killed me. I've got some interesting potential on my bench but I need some consistent starters if I'm going to compete. On the other side of the coin, I've got three very solid number two running backs in Best, Bradshaw and Starks. MJD will likely heat up but, for his first two weeks he's putting up number two RB numbers rather than acting like a true number one. After getting burned by Cedric Benson last season and Forte the season before, I have that sinking feeling that MJD is just going to deliver a season full of inconsistency and disappointment. I figured I would try and get max value for him while I still could. Meanwhile, Starks is getting better week after week and Best just put up a monster game so there is the potential that one of those two will start putting up consistent number one numbers.

I tried getting Megatron back for MJD but that owner was not biting. Steve Smith has not had a real quarterback throwing to him the past two seasons. I'm gambling that Cam Newton is the real deal and that this season will mark a return to greatness for Smith.

Anyway, we start three WR with no flex so that weights WR's a little bit more. Here's what my team looks like after the trade:

Brees, Drew QB NO
Best, Jahvid RB DET
Bradshaw, Ahmad RB NYG
Smith, Steve WR CAR
Jackson, DeSean WR PHI -- Hopefully Vick won't be out too long and last week was an aberration but you can see why I wanted to make this deal.
Manningham, Mario WR NYG -- Starting to look like a bust year to me. See my bench for other options and, again, part of my motivation for making this trade
Davis, Vernon TE SF
Henery, Alex K PHI
Saints DST

Bench:

Fitzpatrick, Ryan QB BUF
Starks, James RB GB
Ingram, Mark RB NO -- I will be pleasantly surprised if he develops into the sleeper everyone thought he was. NO platoons too much for even a great RB to put up decent fantasy numbers
Burress, Plaxico WR NYJ -- Riding my bench until he starts putting up consistent numbers
Nelson, Jordy WR GB -- I like anyone Rodgers throws to and Nelson's had two good weeks now but all of his points last week came off one play
Moore, Denarius WR OAK -- I'm excited about the potential here.
Decker, Eric WR DEN -- I'm a little more skeptical here but you never know
McCluster, Dexter WR KC -- CBS lists McCluster as a WR and says they will not be changing it! With Charles out, McCluster could potentially start putting up RB numbers in a WR slot!
Cobb, Randall WR GB -- First in line to be dropped next time I have to work the waiver wire.

The really big question is who do I start in the number 3 WR slot this week? It's kind of a ridiculous situation. Maybe I'll get the Who Should I Start thread going.

If some of those question marks on my bench start producing consistently, I will look to put together some sort of a package for a new number one running back.

Not questioning the trade but you really are quick to write off players after two games. A bust season for Manningham already? Two games and MJD wont put up top tier RB numbers?

I've had it in for MJD since before the season even started and it may well be irrational on my part but the first two weeks didn't help to change my mind. MJD may very well turn it around (now that I've traded him it's a certainty) but the difference between Best and MJD is much less than the difference between Manningham/Buress and Carolina Steve Smith. Past seasons may be coloring my opinion as well. My draft strategy keeps sticking me with bubble RB's -- Guys who aren't quite elite and can go either way. My top running back rode the bench the last two years running and I wanted to avoid that happening a third year.

As for Manningham, as a Giants fan, I would love to see him turn it around but after watching the first two games I am not optimistic. I was really expecting a breakout season from him but two things have become abundantly clear -- He can't run routes for shit and his bad hands from last season don't seem to be improving. Even with Manning off his game, Manningham should have put up monster numbers this week. He blew three plays that should have been 40+ yard touch downs. (One was a poorly run route, the next was a drop and the final one was a bobble when he should have broken cleanly to the end zone.) Steve Smith put up huge numbers because he always ran the perfect route and he had great hands. Manningham is not Steve smith so if he's going to put up big numbers he's going to have to execute the big plays and he doesn't seem able to do that either. I would not be shocked to find that the Giants are already reducing his role in their offensive game plan. On top of all that, he's got a possible concussion. I'm not dropping him and I'll be thrilled if he proves me wrong and bounces back from a bad start but the signs are not good.

So I just received Steve Smith (CAR) by trading Cam Newton and Mike Williams (TB) my other qbs are stafford and Freeman. Won that trade right?
Greatone
You got the best player in the deal, so yes.

Sent out this trade in another league:

I receive: Injured Andre Johnson

I give up: Julio Jones and Ryan Grant.

This guy has a ton of injuries and also has Calvin Johnson. My thinking is he needs a short term solution and Julio Jones is getting more targets than Roddy White. Also, James Starks is a bitch, so I'm presuming Ryan Grant is going to take that over.

Think he'll think I'm not trying to fleece him?

It's worth trying but I'm not sure he'll go for it. And I would not say that Starks is a bitch -- GB just spreads it around too much for a running back to put up big numbers. Grant coming back means less touches for Starks but I wouldn't really put Grant ahead of Starks on the depth charts.

I've been trying really hard to pickup a #1 RB but people in my league are trade shy. Or maybe it's that all of the good running backs are injured or bombing so the few putting up decent numbers are too valuable to part with. I've got Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jahvid Best and a bunch of good depth wide-receivers to offer.

I meant James Starks is a bitch as he needs to step the fuck down so Grant looks good in this trade laugh2.gif wink.gif

I just think with bye weeks screwing him for the next two weeks and Johnson not necessarily coming back til after, he may need it. I can afford to have johnson on my bench with Fred Jackson, LeSean McCoy, Hakeem Nicks and Santonio holding the RB, RB/WR, WR, WR front until Andre' rehabs and Santonio is banished forever.
