Fuck this Team Positive / Team Negative bullshit; it's looking like we might have a chance to wrap this party up Sunday night against the Bruins. Flyers visiting the Pens Sunday afternoon, and even an OT loss there and the Rangers can stick a fork in this race right then and there.
Absolutely fucking love it. What a game tonight; not only beat Montreal, but straight up shit on their faces. So pumped right now, and can't wait for Sunday night because I think the Flyers are going to help us out on Sunday and give us a chance to do this at home.

Except I never said they were falling out of first. I never predicted that either way. But I understand, it seems like you regularly read the Rangers forum through a veil of tears from those terribly mean criticisms Rangers fans have for their team when they play badly, so all the words probably blur together sometimes.

From looking at the standings here are some scenarios for the weekend:
1. Round 1 Home Ice: A Flyers loss to Ottawa tomorrow afternoon means that the Rangers will have home ice in the first round (locked into either 1 or 4 seed)
2. Division/1 Seed: On Sunday, a Flyers win over the Pens and a Rangers win over the Bruins gives the Rangers the division and locks them into the 1 seed (This scenario is not linked to the first one. Home ice is clinched in this scenario regardless of what happens tomorrow to the Flyers)

A Pittsburgh regulation loss means the Rangers only have to go to OT against the Bruins to clinch division. If Pens get a loser point Rangers need a win.

Not if the Rangers win in any manner. The magic number is three points, so if we get two and the Pens lose a point, then we clinch 1st.

I didn't realize Buffalo has an upcoming home and home with the Maple Flops. That's probably a 4 easy points. Let's see...
Ottawa - 88pts.
@PHI, @NYI, CAR, BOS, @NJD
Washington - 86pts.
MON, @TBL, FLA, @NYR
Buffalo - 86pts.
@TOR, TOR, @PHI, @BOS
Gotta like the chances of Ottawa to hanging onto 7th, and that'll be a hell of a finish between Washington and Buffalo.

Yes, because it was completely moronic to believe a team that was 12-0-1 in its past 13 games and 1 point behind the Rangers would pass a Rangers team that had a sub .500 record over a 6 week span. Seriously? I'm glad the Rangers are winning and you as well as everyone else has good reason to be excited right now. But it's pretty ridiculous to call people morons when the momentum was clearly in Pittsburgh's favor.
By the way, it's also not over yet. Yes, the Rangers have a very good shot to win the division and No. 1 seed. With luck, it can all be decided by tomorrow night. But it's also pretty premature not to mention immature to insult people before anything has been clinched.

I don't know.
Frankly, while the records won't say it, I think their schedule is harder. Jackets aside, you have a game against Detroit, who is fighting tooth and nail for home ice advantage, and then two teams desperate to make the postseason.
While the Rangers have quality opponents, no one has that innate fear of missing out on the postseason, and in Detroit's case, they may be the worst road team to make the playoffs out of the west, so they really need home ice
