Yeah Team Mustard! Up 3-1 late. I'd love to see the Preds take the West this year.

What? What? Is it over? I'm still watching Nashville! Shit!
Alitaki
That was just some horrible defense by Staal.
Greatone
Haha 4-3 Flyers.
Rocha
Fucking awesome.

Fucking awesome.
Bleedin-Blue
I was kinda hoping it'd go about 40 more minutes.

He wasn't the only one. They've been a sloppy mess.
Kusand
Oh good, another day of insufferable Flyers fans on my social networks. This should be fun.
Leo95
Is it wrong to be very happy with a philly win?
Rocha
Honestly, that 1st period was as much of a mismatch as I've seen in playoff hockey in years. Crazy. The NHL playoffs are already full of thrills. Best playoff sport by a mile.
Alitaki
Mike Milbury is fat.

Eh, it's a home playoff team coming out flying.

Bryzgalov was impressive.

Yeah but that was his assignment there. The defenseman was out of position but Staal was there and instead of getting to the rebound he's standing still, watching the play, and then weakly waves his stick to stop Voracek from getting the rebound. Awful.

EDIT: Jesus. Just watched the replay again. Stick was up by his hips! That goal is all on Staal.
Eric
I switched to the Nashville-Detroit game for the intermission and by the time i switched back to Pitt-Philly it was over. I want to see the goal! Hurry up, NHL.com!
Tex
drama in Battle Hotdog! EN PP underway, 22 seconds to go...

Weber auditioning for the WWE laugh2.gif
Tex
oh Weber... very bad to head shot like that... nono.gif
leedsy99
Nice play, Shea Weber. How does Shanahan not penalize that?
Bleedin-Blue
What the hell is Weber doing there? I'd say that warrants at least a game suspension. A stupid move for sure.
Leo95
Whoa look what Weber did to Zetterberg.

Some flyer need to do that to Crosby or malkin next game.
Bleedin-Blue
Let's go Kinks!
Rocha
The Canucks and their fans make my skin crawl almost as badly as any team in the league. Go Kings!
Tex
aw hell, I'm'a get sucked into this Kings game if I'm not careful. Everybody is up a notch, tonight. Allsome hockey.
toph
KINNNNNNGGGGGGGGSSSSS
Bleedin-Blue
Those tools are still doing that stupid green jackass suit? Move on.

Dear Darth Sather,

I'd like Shea Weber in a Rangers uniform for my birthday in September.

Yours truly,

Alitaki

I want the Preds to win, but their freaking fans are ridiculous with some of their chants.

"1, 2, 3, 4. You just hit the icy floor!"

What? Are they friggin kidding?

I really don't think Rangers fans are in the position to be criticizing ANYONE'S chants.

As cool as it looks, though, it was preposterously stupid. He'll get a game minimum, and while I doubt Detroit needs inspiration, this doesn't really help the Predators in any way.

I dont disagree but I still want him on this team. I know it impossible to fit him in but that's irrelevant. I want.

Beyond preposterously stupid. If Rome plowing Horton a second late is 4 games, shouldn't that be more like 10? I mean, that's a head shot and egregious lack of sportsmanship all rolled up into one.
toph
They look at the play's result and that did nothing to Zetterberg. Fair or not, a resulting injury matters.

Yeah. Should count himself lucky; if Zetterberg had a concussion, he might've been Bertuzzi'd.

Well, since Zetterberg doesn't play for the Penguins, probably not.

I agree. But you can't Triple H the opposite team's best player into the turnbuckle at the end of the game. Imagine if Gaborik gets smashed like that in Game One. We would be livid. I think Weber bought himself a game: Nashville already has Game One, so it's not like they play from behind. And Zetterberg wasn't hurt, so Detroit can whine that it affected anything.

John Shannon is reporting the hit will be reviewed, but no games for Weber.
Mike B.
He's gotta get a game for that. When I first heard about it, I thought he boarded Z. At least you could argue in that case that it was a hockey play. If Weber doesn't get suspended, Holmstrom should be allowed to carry a steel rod in his glove so he can brain Rinne when the refs aren't looking.
jkman61494
You know, I understand this is random, but I really wish the NHL would make the incident where a guy slashes an opponents stick and it breaks a discretionary call, just like most other types of penalties.

Kings, Canucks are tied at 2 with 6 minutes to go. Kings have the momentum. Some guy named Nolan goes for the puck against Lapierre and Nolan does a simple stick check on Maxim. The stuck proceeds to break right where the shaft meets the blade.

This wasn't some two handed slash on the middle of the stick. There was a clear issue with the stick and broke on minimal contact yet the league has nothing in place to account for this.

Did Vancouver just score? No. But it took away the momentum L.A. was building. And some time, in a triple overtime game, this event will occur and it will make the difference in a game. And that will completely, in all ways, suck for the team that....no pun intended, gets the short end of the stick.
