Internet failure hits two continents

QUOTE
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (CNN) -- High-technology services across large tracts of Asia, the Middle East and North Africa were crippled Thursday following a widespread Internet failure which brought many businesses to a standstill and left others struggling to cope.

Industry experts are blaming damage to two undersea cables but it is not known what caused the damage.

Reports say that Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain Pakistan and India, are all experiencing severe problems.

Wow, no internet in India? Who will answer the phone doing their best impression of Apu and tell me their name is "Steve" and ask how they can help me?

Hahahahahaha thats the best. "Hi my name is bfdlsjgdlksfjgasjdfdsjlg but you can call me Sam." I deal with those support calls all the time with my job. They are actually getting better though as I have been getting English speaking reps with greater frequency.

I'm not the conspiracy theorist type. There are no aliens. Elvis is dead. But I think it's kind of suspicious that THREE high-bandwidth fiber cables were "cut by ship's anchors" in THREE days. I hear Iran is totally cut off. Conspiracy theorists, extrapolate what you will.

Iran better get ready. This is the first step towards us bringing democracy to their little corner of the world. Up next....no electricity!
