Mastodon is, hands down, the best metal band out there right now. Everything they do is fucking great. I don't think I've heard a song from them where I said, "Eh...it's okay". It's all good. Who's better than them? Lamb of God? A few years ago I would have said so but their latest album didn't do a whole lot for me. I still love Randy and co. but Mastodon is just the epitome of the current progressive and post-thrash metal scene. I have to put Blood Mountain in now.

I looooooove Spotify. I have a mix of my favorite 2011 songs in a playlist, and it just sounds perfect on random play mode.
Pantera was awesome. Their album covers are criminally underrated. So is every metal song. Ever.

HA! Dude, if you're gonna go that direction than you should have used the gayest picture of Pantera EVER:

Also, if you're going to call your band "Chores of Evening" you'd think that the barbarian and his girl would be washing some dishes while Satan there takes out the trash.

He's a regular shopper at the Trader Joe's I used to work at on Long Island. Unforch apparently he was an evening shopper -- my shifts were always early-morning.

I'm in a remix kind of mood.
Sadly, the Internet has obliterated all traces of one of my favorite remixes -- Ian St Laurent's remix of North American Scum.

Butterfly started up a new project about 2 years ago, called Shabazz Palaces. It's similar in spirit to Digable Planets, but much crazier and trippier. Some really great sounds.

Doomriders is the shit.
That whole event though, reminds me of how bonnaroo kinda feels now- Like a whole lot of people forced together by music that they generally use to get away from said people.

I've never done a big festival and likely never will. I've said it here a few dozen times - Roseland Ballroom is the biggest I get and I'm not happy there.

Finally getting a chance to give Kurt Vile's record a spin, and it's awesome. Like if Thurston Moore actually cared about making somewhat melodic music.
