Wade's jersey was sold at Saturday's game along with the other active Whale players. Someone had him sign it post game. This Saturday they're auctioning the green jerseys during the game.

I wandered into Gerry Cosby's on 31st Street yesterday before heading to that craphole bar that people here like so much. Inside, there was a blue USA jersey worn by former Ranger Bob Brooke hanging from the ceiling. I approached one of the guys behind the counter and asked if it was for sale. I pretty much knew it wouldn't be but I was curious anyway. He said that it's not for sale and that it belongs to the owner of the company. He also told me that somebody else had offered said owner $10,000 for it and he turned it down. $10,000!! I'm pretty sure he could have bought Bob Brooke himself for ten grand. Unless I ever find a 1994 Finals game-worn jersey somehow, I don't think there's anything in my collection that I wouldn't sell for $10,000.

I once tried to talk him into parting with the Team Sweden Sandstrom jersey.

So my dad decided to wear my almost as old as me authentic Richter jersey to the game tonight since I was at work and couldn't go to the game. Around 10:30 I get a text from my brother:

I ask my dad, "Why would you ruin a perfectly good Mike Richter jersey?" He says he hasn't. I say, "Would you walk up to Pete Stemkowski with a photo of Mike Richter to sign? No! So why in the name of all that is holy would you take my jersey and ruin it?"

Am I right or is this not such an awful thing?

Where did he sign it? I might be able to get it to come off if it's not on the twill itself.
