At our school teacher's are supposed to write their day's lesson's objectives on the white boards in our classes. It's the SWBAT. Students Will Be Able To. Given I have several large 9th grade classes and a few large 10th grade classes ,sometimes classroom management is an issue. Basically they can't shut their pie holes while I'm trying to teach.

I was at an undisclosed place tonight where I found some interesting shot combos. The first, with which I was joined by a colleague, was a mix of Stoli Vanilla, Rumplemintz, and Baileys. The second, which I performed as a solo, was Jamesons and Baileys Caramel. Both pretty good, but the latter of the two was superior.

Was it The F***** P*** ?

Sed
Went with the La Fin Du Monde tonight. Delicious.
Bleedin-Blue
That one is my personal favorite in their profile. I'm not sure I've ever had anything from them that I didn't like though.
Sed
Want to get some dark chocolate to have with the Trois Pistoles - supposed to pair well.

Suggestion on the box was correct - Trois Pistoles and dark chocolate = awesome.

Maya bought me this last night:

Think I'm going to start with the Trois Pistoles.

That Quebec brewery is one of my favorite in the world. I haven't been drinking beer more than 1-3 times a year for at least 5 years now, but if I was, it would be those frequently.
Sed
I have to get over to Delaney's Tap Room in New Haven - they've got DFH 120-Minute IPA on tap now, and I've really wanted to try it.

What's wrong with me that I can't drink ipa's? Love nearly all types of beer, HATE Indian pale ales.

Yeah, IPAs are pretty polarizing - don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't either love them or hate them.

Same here. A friend of mine was hardcore with the Sierra Nevada and Anchor Steam pale ales. Ugh. Owl piss.

Love IPAs. Although, I tried the Brooklyn brewery East India Pale Ale yesterday and was really disappointed. I love Brooklyn Lager too.
Paul Smachetti
I can take IPAs or leave them. I'd much rather drink the dark beers (i.e Smithwicks)if I'm going to detour from my beloved PBR.
xcdudesquadloves91!!!
Love IPAs. Sadly though I wish I could just take home barrels and barrels of beer from here. Everything I've had is good.

Not my bag, but not hated either. Every now and then I get in the mood for something on the hoppy side. but it's rare.

Good stuff.

Ommegang kicks ass. The Rare Vos is dynamite. I'm not sure I've actually had the Witte however. And speaking of, I have to get my ass back to Cooperstown sometime soon. I haven't been up there in a good ten years now.

I broke this out tonight:

Very tasty indeed. I haven't had this one since it came out after my dismissal. Long Trail knows how to brew beer for sure.
Sed
Visiting the Long Trail brewery was one of the high points of my trip to Vermont last summer. Very tasty stuff.

Drinking a Unibroue Maudite right now. It's pretty nice!
Bleedin-Blue
That's the one with the flying canoe above the demon, right? The artwork on the bottles is really damn cool too. They sure do it all up properly up there in Quebec. All we need now is to get the women to shave more.

Yep - that's the one. One bottle left in the box. Don De Dieu. So far, everything's been very good.
bloodorange
Love Ommegang (especially Rare Vos). Love how easy it is to find all the Ommegang beers at bars and restaurants in the Catskills, too.
Sed
I forget which Ommegang I had when a few of us met up at Rattle And Hum in Jan 2010 (Guys - has it really been that long?) but I remember REALLY liking it.
teddyc
I went to Cooperstown for two nights a little while back and also had the Ommegang Hennepin. Which was excellent!
But I prefer lower alcohol content in my beers so the Witte is more up my alley.

This is the only one I've had (and, coincidentally it is my favorite beer in all the world).

Can you give some descriptions of the others so I know whether to persue them or not?
Sed
Trois Pistoles is a dark ale. Followed the suggestion of pairing it with a piece of dark chocolate (73% IIRC) and it was really good. The Maudite was a red ale - think it would be good with pizza or spicy foods.

EDIT: They're all in the 8-9% ABV range, so they're not beers that you would typically down a sixer of, but they're surprisingly smooth for stronger brews.
ak996
I'm gonna have to try the Rare Vos tonight given all the rave reviews you guys have had.

I had Arcadia Ale's Double IPA last night. Not too bad. Extremely hoppy.
Beamer
For the record, that whipped cream vodka combined with pineapple juice, coconut milk and a little bit of that key lime cream liquor is an insanely easy way to get really drunk on a warm afternoon party.

My current faves from DFH....

Indian Brown Ale

Palo Santo Marron

Burton Batton

Count me in the "hates IPA" crowd. Haaaates.

If I want a lighter beer I'm going heifeweizen.

Ulfie,

Haven't had the other two yet, but the PSM is really nice.

Yeah, but I assume you drink the heifeweizen with lots of explosions and Megan Fox, whereas I think the heifeweizen was better when they just had a 7" demo and hadn't released a full length.
