QUOTE
Terrell Owens wants Michael Vick to be reinstated immediately by the NFL, and said any extension of the quarterback's suspension would be similar to "kicking a dead horse."

Speaking after the Buffalo Bills training camp practice Sunday morning, the star receiver referred to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's handling of Vick's status as "unfair." Owens also lobbied to have more of the league's high-profile players voicing their opinion in support of Vick and asked the NFL Players Association to become more involved.

I saw news this last week that Goodell's met with Vick, and my thought was "they're actually considering reinstating him?"
T.O. and other players need to be a little more PR savvy than this.

So who signs him first, Dallas or Oakland?

Dallas. I called it back in like January.

Vick to Dallas? Nah. They're putting all their eggs into the "Hope-Tony-Romo-doesn't-suck-as-bad-as-he-has-thus-far-in-his-career' basket. I don't see Jerry Jones bringing on another #1 quarterback. Unless they try and make him into a tight end or wide receiver.

Commence gay prison jokes about said positions.

Its a Jones-esque move though. They'd use him as a backup/running back imo.

What xc said, Jones might be crazy enough to want to turn him into a reciever, especially when Roy Williams catches 14 balls through 6 games.

The guy just spent almost two years in jail, and I was under the impression a jail sentence was for rehabilitation as well as punishment, not for punishment followed by perpetual stigma and blacklisting. Let the fans decide if they want to see him again, rather than place Goodell on the pedestal as the man who will follow up where the justice system failed.

Perpetual stigma!? Blacklisting?! This isn't Nelson f^&*ing Mandela here. This is a guy who had everything going for him. He was making millions of dollars playing a game. At some point along the way he decided that there was a void in his life. What could fill this void you ask? How about forcing dogs to kill each other for his own sick and twisted enjoyment...

If through his jail sentence he was able to come to the understanding that what he did was cruel and that breaking the law has consequences... Great! He now understands what 99% of the rest of us already know. But that doesn't mean he should automatically get back everything he had prior.

Fans, for the most part, are stupid. Especially collectively. Goodell should have the stones to say "This is not the type of person this league wants to be associated with..." There is, to my knowledge, no shortage of capable, football-playing, grown men. There is no good reason Vick should be rewarded instead with millions more dollars.

For those that didn't see, he's been "conditionally" reinstated. He can sign and practice with any team, and can play the last 2 preseason games. He will then be "reevaluated" after Week 6 and it will be determined if he can play in regular season games after that.

Oh, and Vick has been quoted as saying he only wants to play QB. Of course, that could change if all he gets is offers to be a RB or WR.

Edit: Apparently its a week-by-week thing, so he could play in Week 1 "if all goes well," whatever that means.

on the condition that 18 months in Rura Penthe hasn't trashed his game and that any team really wants to deal with the PETA backlash of signing his dog-killing ass. Besides, until he's spent a week on a rape stand in a pen full of male pitbulls, he hasn't "repaid" shit. This guy had his shot and blew it. Fuck him. Let somebody else play. The message should be: "Don't fuck up or you're on your own" rather than: "Thug it up, we'll keep a spot open for you!"
